Lamar Jackson Injury Update: Ravens Quarterback Leaves Game With Concussion

Lamar Jackson takes the field for the Baltimore Ravens.

Lamar Jackson’s injury shocked Raven’s fans in the team’s division playoff game against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday night. The quarterback took a hard hit at the end of the third quarter and left the game. He was put into the concussion protocol and ruled out for the remainder of the game, per Sporting News.

The Ravens were playing the Buffalo Bills over the weekend, and the wind became a huge factor. There were multiple missed kicks during the game, as well as some poor snaps due to the swirling breeze in the New York stadium.

One such snap is what caused Lamar’s injury. After a bad snap, the QB was sent scrambling to retrieve the ball. He ended up getting the ball and even threw it out of bounds before taking a nasty hit that left him laying on the ground while Bills fans held their breaths.

After being pulled off the field, Jackson walked back to the locker room under his own power. The camera even caught him jogging through the tunnel, which eliminated any leg injury that fans were fearing. Sadly, the dreaded concussion protocol was later confirmed to keep him out of one of the biggest games of his life.

The Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback is the reigning NFL MVP. He’s impressed fans this year with his speed, as well as his ability to run the ball himself and become a dangerous playmaker.

Meanwhile, the team’s backup QB, Tyler Hunley, promptly took over the for the injured Jackson and began to show his stuff. He threw some good passes and even showed shades of his predecessor by running the ball himself.

Meanwhile, fans had a lot to say about the situation, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts and opinions on Jackson leaving the game.

“Imagine if the Ravens had an experienced backup QB like Colin Kaepernick right now,” one fan tweeted.

“I can’t believe this, Lamar is getting cheated by the refs for the bills I’m never watching the rigged nfl again,” one follower wrote.

“LAMAR WOULDVE WON THE SUPERBOWL HEALTHY,” another stated.

“Wow a mind blowing talent and Ravens can’t put it together for some reason,” a fourth person commented.
