Lamar Odom lucky to be alive but denying drug problem

Former NBA star Lamar Odom is considered one of the luckiest men alive these days. Lamar has everyone; doctors included astounded by his miraculous recovery, but his luck may just run out soon. New reports reveal that Lamar Odom is denying having any substance abuse issues at all.

If you recall Lamar’s medical nightmare began on October 13 after Odom was found unconscious after a drug overdose in a Nevada brothel. Written off for dead, more than once Lamar has amazingly bounced back and is expected to be released from the hospital in the next ten days or so. Odom’s estranged wife Khloe Kardashian has spent every moment at Lamar’s side during his recovery period. However, one new issue has allegedly arisen since Odom’s recovery. Khloe is demanding that Lamar checks into rehab upon his release from the hospital. But here is the problem, Lamar is in denial. In fact, he claims he has no issues with substance abuse and is blaming the Love Ranch hookers for his recent drug overdose.

“Lamar will be released from the hospital in the next ten days,” a source told Radar. However, his release from the hospital does not mean that he has fully recovered physically from his near-fatal drug overdose. “It’s uncertain if he will go to a facility to continue physical rehab, or do it as an outpatient.” The Lamar story has been a baffling one at that and fans who have been keeping up with the latest Lamar Odom news have been up and down many times over the past few weeks.

Khloe Kardashian gives Lamar Odom a ultimatum

As previously reported, it was soon discovered during  Odom’s hospitalization that Khloe and Lamar are still married.

The couple recently decided to call off their impending divorce.  For a short time, it appeared as if Khloe and Lamar would be reuniting, but Khloe stepped forward and stated that she was still dating NBA player James Harden and had no intentions of staying with Lamar. This appears to hold some truth to it especially since Lamar is not wanting to face his substance abuse issues head on.

“Khloe told Lamar that after he was released from the hospital, he would need to go to rehab for substance abuse addiction. Lamar balked and said no way, blaming the hookers for his overdose, and Lamar is still insisting he doesn’t have a drug problem. He is still in denial.” This is sad news because at this time Lamar is still very vulnerable and if he does not get into a strong rehab program he could most likely find himself in bad shape once again, and he may not be quite as lucky the next time.
