Lamar Odom may be doing better after his Oct. 13 drug overdose at a Nevada brothel, but the former LA Laker is still in very serious condition and is said to need a kidney transplant in the future.
Lamar Odom Needs a Kidney Transplant After Overdose
According to Us Weekly, Lamar Odom will need a kidney transplant and has several months of therapy in his future to try and return to the physical condition of his past. Khloe Kardashian‘s husband is currently in kidney failure and on dialysis. “He’s doing a tiny bit better, but he has a very long road back to full recovery — if that,” one insider reveals.
Lamar is speaking very few words and is dealing with damage to his brain reportedly caused by over a dozen strokes that he had while unconscious at the brothel and transported to the hospital. “That’s the most serious thing he’s dealing with,” the source states.

It’s really unclear what the future holds for Lamar Odom as of right now. “The doctors just don’t know the extent of all the damage yet. There are still a lot of tests that need to be done. He’ll get more of his motor skills back gradually, but cognitively, he’s not where he used to be.”
It looks like it may be a long and scary road for Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian and fans are sending their well wishes to the couple, who called off their divorce after Lamar’s health crisis brought them back together.
