Former Passions star Lindsay Hartley excited soap opera fans when she opened up about the possibility of bringing back the defunct series. The actress, who portrayed the role of Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald on the canceled NBC sudser, revealed that she believes bringing the show back would be a huge win for fans and whatever network/streaming service picked it up.
Passions reboot teased by actress Lindsay Hartley
Passions, which ended in 2008, was set in the seaside town of Harmony. The show was full of drama. Of course, the backbone of the soap opera was supernatural storylines. The series, which aired back-to-back with Days of Our Lives back in the day was beloved by viewers. Of course, it did tend to get a bit silly from time to time. However, DOOL has often taken on supernatural storylines, and it’s still kicking after nearly six decades.
In addition, many former Passions stars like Galen Gering and Eric Marstolf also appear on Days of Our Lives. This Is Us star Justin Hartley (who is Lindsay’s ex-husband) also starred on the sudser. Hartley herself even had a role on the show when she was cast as Salem’s own Ariana Hernandez. The actress also admitted that she thinks a Passions reboot would be huge at this time.

Should Passions return to TV?
“Wish we could do a reunion episode, just something fun for the fans,” Lindsay Hartley admitted (via Soaps). “It would explode [if it came back]. Paranormal is so hot right now,” she explains. “You turn on the TV and paranormal is just fun.”
Hartley went on to call Passions “quirky and cheeky.” She also revealed that there have been several elements that have been seen on daytime television since the show’s end. Although it’s unlikely, the actress may have a point. With Days of Our Lives moving exclusively to streaming, it may be time to try another soap opera. Whether that’s a Passions reboot or brand new show that fans can watch from the beginning.
