Lisa Marie Presley’s Death
The only daughter of the late legendary entertainer Elvis Presley and his wife, Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie Presley, was found unresponsive in her Calabasas, California home on January 12. Presley’s housekeeper found Lisa early Thursday morning.
Presley’s ex-husband Danny Keough returned to the home he had been sharing with Presley for the past couple of years to find chaos. He quickly jumped into action and began performing CPR on Lisa until the EMTs arrived.
However, according to TMZ reports, Presley’s condition was grim upon arrival. Presley was placed in the intensive care unit, in a coma, on life support with a temporary pacemaker.
Additionally, because of Presley’s condition, the family put in a do not resuscitate order due to her condition. Unfortunately, Lisa’s heart soon stopped a second time, and she has pronounced dead shortly after.
Lisa Marie Presley Autopsy
Lisa Marie Presley’s cause of death has not yet been officially determined. However, following the initial autopsy examination, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s report reveals that Presley’s cause of death has been deferred.
A deferral with the cause of death has not been determined. Instead, the medical examiner requests more investigation into the death, including additional studies. Once the tests/studies come back, the doctor re-evaluates the case and makes the cause of death determination,” according to CNN.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta explains there are often many reasons for a cause of death deferral.
“There are things on an initial autopsy, trauma, stroke, significant infections, blood clots, pulmonary embolism,” he said. “If you see those and they’re obvious within the initial physical autopsy, they may come back with a cause of death. So they may want to evaluate more medical records and get more history,” he states.
