Lisa Marie Presley is a single woman once again. After five long years and a brutal divorce court battle, Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood’s divorce is now official.
Page Six confirms that Presley and Lockwood were granted a dissolution of marriage on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Even though Lisa and Michael’s marriage is finally over, Lisa is not quite finished with her battle with Lockwood.
Lisa Marie Presley And Michael Lockwood Continue To Duke It Out In Court
The biggest fight is yet to come for Presley. She and Lockwood continue their nasty custody battle over the former couple’s twin daughters Harper and Finley.
It has been a long and brutal struggle for Lisa Marie Presley since she filed for divorce from Lockwood back in 2016. In 2018, Lisa requested primary custody of Harper and Finley. The case took a dark turn in 2020, following the death of Presley’s son Benjamin Keough.
Michael Lockwood Plays Dirty In Custody Case Following Death Of Lisa Marie Presley’s Son
Lockwood petitioned the court for custody, claiming he feared the stress from Benjamin’s death would push Lisa into a relapse. As previously reported, Lisa Marie was devastated by her only son’s unexpected death.
Lockwood took the opportunity to file a motion in court expressing that he was concerned for his daughter’s safety and well-being at this time.
“Lisa Marie Presley’s son shot and killed himself in her home (Although she was not there at the time.) With all due sympathy and respect, this creates a new and unaddressed twofold problem: the safety of the children and the greater likelihood of LMP to relapse into drug and alcohol dependency,” the court papers read.
Presley Family Stands Strong During Dark Times
While true that Lisa Marie Presley was left heartbroken by Benjamin’s death. Those closest to Lisa that she has remained strong for the sake of her daughters.
Lisa Marie Presley has a strong support system which includes daughters Riley Keough, Harper, Finley, ex-husband Danny Keough, and mother, Priscilla Presley.
The family continues to stand together and united during the difficult and dark times surrounding Lisa Marie Presley.
