It has only been three weeks since Lisa Marie’s death, and the new Presley family drama is already beginning to mount. Various outlets report that Lisa Marie’s mom, Priscilla Presley, recently filed court papers contesting her late daughter’s last will and testament.
Per People Magazine, Lisa Marie Presley left her trust, which included Elvis’ Graceland property and 15 percent ownership of Elvis’ estate, to her three daughters, Riley Keough, Harper Lockwood, and Finley Lockwood.
Last Thursday, Priscilla Presley filed paperwork in a Los Angeles court questioning the “authenticity and validity” of Lisa Marie’s will. The 77-year-old mother to Lisa and grandmother to Riley, Finely, and Harper claim that a 2016 amendment that put the trust in the hands of Lisa’s daughters is invalid.
Priscilla Presley Wants Full Control
According to the report, Lisa Marie Presley wrote her living will in 1993. However, she amended it in 2010, making her mother, Priscilla Presley, and former business manager Barry Siegal co-trustees.
However, Priscilla made an unsettling discovery following Lisa Marie’s death. She found that her daughter had added another amendment in 2016. This one cuts Barry Siegal and Priscilla Presley out and replaces them with her children Riley, Benjamin, Finely, and Harper.
Lisa Marie Presley’s Friend Shares Personal Details
A close friend of Lisa Marie Presley tells People Magazine she is upset by Priscilla’s actions. They say that Priscilla’s attempt to take control from Lisa’s children directly contradicts her daughter’s wishes.
The friend says that when Lisa Marie amended in 2016, it was at a time when she did not have a relationship with Priscilla. They claim the two women were at odds because Priscilla continues to have a relationship with Lisa’s ex-husband Michael Lockwood following their divorce.
They also add that Lockwood was not invited to Lisa Marie’s funeral. However, Priscilla assisted him in attending.
“At the end of the day, these are her wishes, and there’s no question as to what her wishes were. No one’s going to be able to reinvent the last seven or eight years and say no, no, no.”
