Luke Perry tragically died in California on Monday morning. The actor was only 52-years-old.
According to TMZ, Luke Perry had been in the hospital for many days after he suffered a “massive stroke” on Tuesday. Paramedics were called to the Beverly Hills, 90210 star’s home in Sherman Oaks, California. However, the outlet reports that Luke was responsive and talking.
Luke Perry cause of death revealed
However, after his condition began to deteriorate, he was rushed to the hospital. Perry’s rep confirmed that that Riverdale actor had been sedated in hopes of giving his brain a chance to recover from the damage caused by the stroke. However, the trauma proved to be too much, and Luke passed away on Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank.
Perry was born in Mansfield, Ohio and became a household name when he landed the role of hunky bad boy, Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210.
Luke also had roles in films such as 8 Seconds, and TV shows like Another World, Oz, Jeremiah, Windfall, and Body of Proof. He currently played the role of Fred Andrews, father to main character Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) on the CW’s hit teen drama, Riverdale, proving that he had went from being one generation’s teen idol to the next’s dad.
“The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world. No further details will be released at this time,” a statement made by Luke Perry’s rep revealed following the news of his untimely death.

Perry’s co-stars weigh in on his death
Stars such as Perry’s 90210 co-stars, Ian Ziering and Gabrielle Carteris, as well as his Riverdale co-star, Molly Ringwald, have also spoken out along with countless friends, fellow actors, and fans who are all mourning the Luke’s death this week.
Riverdale has shut down production to grieve Perry’s death, and the writers of the show have already declared that Season 3 of the series is dedicated to Luke, whom they’ve called a “beloved” member of the show’s family.
“We are deeply saddened to learn today about the passing of Luke Perry. A beloved member of the Riverdale, Warner Bros. and CW family, Luke was everything you hope he would be,” the statement started off, adding that he had become a “father figure and mentor to the show’s young cast.”
