Soap star Matthew Cowles dies at 69

Matthew Cowles the actor best known for role on the daytime soap “All My Children” has died at the age of 69.

The daytime soap actor’s passing was confirmed on Twitter by his rep Tsu Tsu Stanton posted that Matthew Cowles, who is best known by his fans as Billy Clyde Tuggle on “All My Children” died on May 22, 2014.

He also later tweeted about the loss on May 23, writing, “#Matthew Cowles passed away on 5/22.I had the pleasure of being his manager. He was a very gifted and kind man who loved life and everyone.”

 

Cowles’ was also married for more than three decades to “The Good Wife’s” Christine Baranski and was the son of Broadway producer Chandler Cowles.

Matthew Cowles throughout his long career appeared on Broadway in revivals of “Sweet Bird of Youth” and “The Time of Your Life” and starred in the Edwar.

Cowles also appeared in films “Nurse Betty,” “Shutter Island” and “The Juror.” His TV credits also include “Oz” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

The cause of Matthew Cowles’ death has not been released at this time to the public.
