Matthew Perry’s co-stars released a statement about his death on October 30. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer mourned the loss of their co-star together.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” their statement reads. “There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able,” the statement continues. “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
It seems that the “Friends” cast will continue to speak about the death of their dear co-star and friend in the days and weeks ahead. However, for now, they’re mourning Matthew Perry’s passing privately.
Friends stars allegedly have a theory about Matthew Perry’s cause of death
Hollywood News Daily previously reported that the cast have been in contact and are devastated by the loss. The Daily Mail reports that they have a theory about Perry’s death. A source close to Lisa Kudrow allegedly told the outlet that the gang believes Matty may have taken something that interacted with the high temperature of the water in the jacuzzi where his body was found.
“No one wants to believe it was medication – prescribed or not,” the insider said. “Of course, that is a thought in their minds. They are thinking he must have taken something that did not mix with the warm water,” the source added.
Perry’s struggles with addiction were documented in his book
Over the years, Matthew Perry had been open about his struggles with alcohol and drug addiction. He opened up about his dark times in his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing.” However, he had gotten clean and had reportedly been living his best life in the days leading up to his untimely death.
Although an autopsy has been done, the immediate results were inconclusive. It will likely take weeks before the tests are completed and an official cause of death is reported. Meanwhile, the “Friends” cast is expected to attend the funeral of their friend and co-star in the coming days.
