Matthew Perry was laid to rest in a funeral held on November 3. The actor died unexpectedly on October 28, shocking his family, friends and fans. Of course, Perry’s former “Friends” co-stars were in attendance at the service.

Matthew Perry’s untimely death has rocked Hollywood. The actor was just 54 years old when he was found unresponsive in his jacuzzi at his home last month. On Friday, Perry’s loved ones gathered to say a final goodbye to the star. The actor’s “Friends” co-stars, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer were there to pay their respects as well.
According to People Magazine, the funeral began at 3 p.m. and lasted for about two hours before concluding at 5 p.m. The service was held at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles. The funeral was also attended by many of Perry’s friends, as well as his family members such as his parents, John Bennett Perry and Suzanne Perry Morrison, and his stepfather, Keith Morrison.
“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love,” the family said in a statement following the actor’s shocking death.

Friends’ cast reactions to Matthew Perry death revealed
After the news of Matthew Perry’s death hit the internet, fans were absolutely shocked. Of course, the actor’s “Friends” co-stars were equally devastated. In the days following his passing, the cast released a joint statement in honor of their late friend.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates.” The statement continued, “We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss,” the statement read.
“In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world,” the statement concluded.
Perry’s legacy lives on
Over the years, Matthew Perry had been open about his struggle with drugs and alcohol. The actor later went on to detail his addiction issues in his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing.” In the book, he revealed that he felt grateful to be alive after his brushes with death. He also admitted that he wanted to be remembered for helping people with similar stories. Perry reportedly planned to make the book into a biopic, and even chose Zac Efron to portray him in the film.
Matthew Perry’s official cause of death has yet to be revealed. However, initial autopsy results found no signs of drugs in his system.
