Matthew Perry’s Death Has Reignited Friends Cast Relationships

Fans are still reeling from Matthew Perry’s death on October 28. The “Friends” star was beloved by millions for his portrayal of Chandler Bing on the hit TV series. However, fans aren’t the only ones grieving the loss of the actor. Among those close to him, his former co-stars are said to be taking his passing extremely hard. Sources reveal that Perry’s death has even reignited the actors’ relationships with each other.

Friends cast is closer than ever following Matthew Perry’s death

Just hours after Matthew Perry’s untimely death, his former “Friends” cast members, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer released a joint statement. In the days following Perry’s funeral, each of the actors released their own personal tributes to the actor on their social media accounts.

According to Life & Style, Perry’s passing has hit too close to home for the cast and forced them to band together.

“His death has left a huge hole in the hearts of his former cast members,” an insider dished. “They’re processing it in different ways and sharing when they’re ready. If there is any good news, it’s that the cast is even closer than ever before.”

Will the cast reunite to honor their late co-star?

As previously reported by Hollywood News Daily, the cast of “Friends” is rumored to be considering another big public reunion. After the 2021 HBO Max special, fans would likely want to see more of the remaining five actors together. Speculation claims that the former co-stars want to speak publicly about Matthew Perry’s passing and honor their friend. They could do it as soon as the 2024 Emmy Awards.

“They all would love to get together on stage to speak about him and also have their own unique moment sharing memories about him and telling the world about the man he was in real life,” a source told The Daily Mail. “If they can all agree on a worthy tribute and get the blessing of his family, they will absolutely get together to make that night a special moment for Matthew and all who loved him.”

The moment would be huge and heartbreaking for the cast and for fans of Perry and the show. It would also offer a final public goodbye to the actor.

Jennifer Aniston is allegedly taking Matthew Perry’s death extremely hard

Meanwhile, Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green on “Friends,” is said to be heavily grieving Matthew Perry. Over the past year, the actress has struggled with grief. She lost her father, “Days of Our Lives” star John Aniston in 2022. Now, with Perry’s passing, she’s reportedly dealing with extra sadness and stress.

Perhaps leaning on her “Friends” co-stars and planning a public tribute to Matthew Perry will be just what Jennifer Aniston and the rest of the gang need to help work through their grief.
