Prince Harry was ready to party for this 40th birthday in September. However, his wife, Meghan Markle, had other ideas. The Duchess of Sussex allegedly forced her husband to cancel his big plans with his old pals in the UK. Instead, he’ll be spending a quiet night at home with Meghan and their two children, Archie and Lillibet. Despite Harry’s planned bday bash, Meghan’s reportedly put her foot down and won’t allow him to return to the UK for his milestone celebration.
Prince Harry hasn’t been spending much time in the UK since he and Meghan Markle officially exited the royal family back in 2020. However, he has been back on several occasions for important family events, such as the funerals of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. He also reportedly rushed to his father King Charles’ side after he was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Meghan has not returned to the UK since leaving the royal family fold. Instead, she’s remained in California with her children as Harry’s traveled back and forth on occasion. Harry’s made it clear that he doesn’t feel safe with Meghan and the kids in the UK due to lack of proper security. So, he doesn’t bring them along on his trips. With Meghan refusing to allow Harry to party in his home country for his birthday, it seems he’ll have no one to celebrate with except his wife and kids, per Closer.
Meghan Markle Put A Stop To Prince Harry 40th Birthday Plans In The UK
“Harry was very keen to go to the UK and party with his friends, and he still would if Meghan let him, but she’s saying absolutely not ,” and insider dished. “For one thing, it’s a bad look for their brand. They’re hoping to hang out with the crème of society, with the Hollywood and political elite, so the idea of him knocking shots and acting like a fool with his pals in Mykonos or wherever is just the worst possible idea.”
“Harry hates to let his friends back in the UK down, he made a lot of promises to them and he knows they’re all looking forward to a big blow out. But it’s hard to justify that kind of wild party animal behavior at this stage of his life ,” the source continues. “He’s a married father of two now, he has to make his wife and kids the priority and Meghan just isn’t going to be happy if he shirks his responsibilities to try and recapture the so-called good old days. And on top of that, it’s a security risk that he simply doesn’t need to take.”
It seems that Prince Harry will have to be content with spending his 40th birthday in the US with Meghan Markle and their children. While the Duke of Sussex may want to let loose a bit, it seems that he’ll be taking his wife’s opinions to heart this time around.
