Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly are considering the options for the role of godparents for their upcoming bundle of joy. According to Hollywood Life, George and Amal Clooney are high on their list.
The latest addition to the Royal family isn’t expected to arrive until later this Spring, which gives Meghan Markle and Prince Harry plenty of time to ponder over one of the most important decisions of their lives.
“Meghan and Harry are happy and excited about the process of picking out their baby’s godparents and obviously there are lots of options,” a source close to the royals allegedly tells the outlet.
“The good news is they aren’t limited to just choosing two people either,” the insider reveals, noting that Prince George actually has seven godparents. “It’s not a royal custom to name family members, so it’s unlikely that they will choose Kate or William,” the source says, adding that it leaves room to think about asking friends. And, when we say friends, we mean, their famous friends.
The “source” claims that since George and Amal Clooney have become such tight-knit pals of Harry and Meghan that it would not come as a huge surprise to see George and Amal take on the huge responsibility. So far, the Royal family has not revealed any official details on the subject, so, at this time anyone named by the source is considered pure
speculation.
With the new Royal Baby due in 2019 the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are going to want to make sure they have all the details ironed out leaving no-stone-unturned especially when it comes to their child.
As previously reported, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle faced a scary mid-air mishap after their plane was hit by lightning. Luckily the firewall protected the Royals and travelers from what could have been a tragic and fatal mishap.
It is safe to assume that following the scary flight, and the rumored terrorism plot allegedly aimed at the Royal family the event may have jump started Harry and Meghan’s search for godparents just to be on the safe side.
