The Mickey Mouse Club is returning. While some fans may remember the original Mouseketeers, such as Annette Funicello, the younger generation knows that MMC launched the careers of some of the biggest stars in Hollywood today such as Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Keri Russell, Ryan Gosling, and Christina Aguilera.

According to Hollywood Life, the show will be re-branded and rebooted as Club Mickey Mouse. However, the show won’t be airing on The Disney Channel like in the days of old. The newest version of the franchise will be airing online via Facebook. Meanwhile, the latest Mouseketeers have yet to be cast, but the opportunity could be huge for some young talents to become the biggest stars of tomorrow. The site also speculates that Britney Spears’ sons, Preston, 11, and Jayden, 10, have inherited their parents dance moves, and could be a great fit for the show. However, it seems unlikely that Britney would want her children in the spotlight.

The Mickey Mouse Club has always been a mixture of music and skits for fans to enjoy, and has been targeted towards tweens and teens. The newest version will likely be more of the same, and may showcase some young stars hoping to become the next Justin Timberlake or Britney Spears.

Disney is known for producing young talent and helped huge stars like Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and Selena Gomez rise to fame. While many of us remember watching JT, Britney, and Ryan on MMC when we were kids, today’s teens and tweens may not be as excited about the show’s reboot. Only time will tell if Disney will be able to make magic happen again for the storied franchise.
