“Modern Family” is sticking around for at least two more seasons. The ABC comedy series finally announced that show’s fate this week, and fans couldn’t be happier that the family will be back in action next season.

According to Deadline, “Modern Family” has officially been renewed for two more years. ABC revealed the big news on Wednesday and gave the show’s core actors, Ed O’Neill, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, and Sofia Vergara, new deals. The cast is said to have scored a big pay upgrade as well.

The reports suggests that the “Modern Family” cast will go from making about $350K an episode to a whopping $500K for Season 9. The network is also said to be negotiating new contracts for its younger stars such as Sarah Hyland and Ariel Winter.

Modern Family has been the centerpiece of our comedy brand for 8 seasons and we are thrilled to have it on our schedule for two more years,” said Channing Dungey, President, ABC Entertainment. “Steve and Chris have created such endearing characters, and the cast is second-to-none.”

“We are beyond thrilled that we get to spend more time with these characters, these amazing actors, our ridiculously-talented writers and our incredible crew – all of whom are like family to us.  And the good kind of family, not the kind that argues with you all the time,” said co-creator Steve Levitan.

What are your thoughts on “Modern Family” returning for at least two more seasons on ABC?
