Modern Warfare 2 Sets Record With $800 Million Opening Weekend

With the release of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 COD has gone back to its roots by limiting movement and making it more skill-based. MW2 was launched at midnight on October 28th it would then lead to a record-breaking weekend by racking up a whopping $800 million.

These numbers absolutely destroy any other Call Of Duty before the new MW2 and Activation is very happy about it. Fans of the COD franchise are loving this game and its mechanics. Other than some players experiencing crashing from time to time as well as some backlash from the playable maps Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is being very well received by the community.

With the Modern Warfare series being the most popular game in the Call Of Duty franchise MW2 was expected to be a big deal. With the backlash from the past two Call Of Duty games being pretty high, Activation, who was recently bought out by Microsoft, knew they had to step up their game. With that being said MW2 will be the last annual Call OF Duty release. This means there will not be a new Call Of Duty this time next year. This allows players to enjoy the game for longer and to play at their own pace.

Fans could not be happier!

Fans are very happy about the way that MW2 has turned out and that it now awards players for hitting their shots and not the players that had all the fancy movement. This game feels like an old Call Of Duty and that is exactly why the players love it so much already.

The community’s gratitude for Microsoft making the first really good Call Of Duty game in a while is shown by the $800 million in sold copies. No one can say that this amount of money strictly from selling game copies is not impressive.

What will be even more impressive is the $1 billion that the game will make most likely by Friday. We can not remember the last time a Call Of Duty game was so universally loved by almost everyone in the player base.

What is this game’s peak?

It was probably when the original MW2 came out on November 10th, 2009. We can not wait to see how this Call Of Duty will grow and we are all very excited to see what they will add to make the game even more enjoyable. Only time will tell how far this game will go.
