Morgan Wallen Axed From ‘SNL’ Performance After Going Mask-Less While Partying With Fans

Morgan Wallen has been axed from he debut appearance on Saturday Night Live. The up and coming country music singer has been tearing up the charts with his catchy tune, “Seven Summers,” but now he’s making headlines for something other than his smooth vocal chops and his mullet hairstyle.

Morgan Wallen was scheduled for the October 10 episode

This week it was reported that Morgan was partying hard with some fans over the weekend. Videos from the party surfaced online, which showed the singer taking shots and even kissing multiple female fans during the night. He was not wearing a mask at the time.

Morgan’s mask-less encounter with fans made some people shudder to think about this upcoming appearance on SNL, which was scheduled to happen this Saturday. People were worried that Morgan’s party antics may have exposed him to the Covid-19 virus, which has been transmitted all over the globe. Worries that Morgan may also expose the cast and crew at the show also circulated.

After the concerns went viral, Morgan revealed that he was told by the late night comedy series that he would no longer be performing on the show this weekend. He owned up to his behavior and apologized for his mistake in a series of videos posted to his Instagram account.

“I’m in New York City in a hotel room. I was getting ready for “SNL” (on) Saturday and I got a call from the show letting me know that I will no longer be able to play. That’s because of COVID protocols. Which I understand.”

The 27-year-old then took full responsibility for his actions by revealing that he was going to take some time away from the spotlight to work on himself and mature a bit.

Fans defend the singer

Fans are now hoping that after Morgan decides to return to the limelight that SNL will consider having him return to the stage so that he can show off his impressive vocals and sing his catchy tunes now that he’s suffered the consequences of his blunder.

“Poor Morgan Wallen out here trying to live his best life like most young stars do and taking allllll the heat,” one fan tweeted.

“To build a path to his future. Many good wishes to him as he tries to do that,” another remarked.

“Why is Morgan Wallen the only celebrity being punished for getting wild???? Makes no sense,” another stated.
