Wednesday night the Denver Nuggets went into Miami for Game 3 of the 2023 NBA Finals. Little did anyone know they would leave with a win and one of the most iconic performances by two teammates ever. According to ESPN.com, Murray and Jokic become the first pair of teammates to both score 30-point triple-doubles in the Finals. This boosted the Nuggets to win Game 3 in Miami and take a 1-2 series lead.
Murray set the tone earlier as he finished with 34 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds. Jokic put up a stat line never seen before in the NBA Finals. 30 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists. In their most important game yet as teammates, these two did not shy away from the brightest of lights. “By far, their greatest performance as a duo in their seven years together,” Malone said.
Denver Bounced Back
After the Nuggets were handed their first home playoff game loss of the season and first finals loss many believed that they would not bounce back this fast. Denver showed that they deserve to be in the NBA Finals with that big win.
“I think it speaks for itself, bro,” Murray said of Jokic’s stat line. “How many times does he have to do that for you guys to believe in his game or our game or whatever? “Like, he’s doing it, making it look so easy, good shooting, low turnovers, two blocked shots, got great hands, great communication in the pick-and-rolls, and I.Q. and all that. We’re running out of things to say.”
With Denver regaining home-court advantage it will be even more of a challenge for Jimmy Butler and the Heat to take this series. After taking Game 2 in Denver the Heat felt great about how these NBA Finals were going. Now being down a game once again it is almost like they haven’t made any progress. Will Miami be able to bounce back again like after Game 1? Or will they start to spiral out of control? It will be very interesting to see how Jimmy Butler and The Miami Heat respond.
Who Will Be The Champs?
Only time will tell how this series will end up. Either way, players will be getting their first rings. Some even their second. It is shaping up to be an amazing series as the 2023 NBA Finals are in full swing! Who will become the champion of the 2022-23 NBA season?
