While HBO is working on bringing The Last Of Us season two alive, series creator Neil Druckmann is ready to unveil his work. Druckmann worked on Naughty Dog’s game version of TLOU as well as HBO’s TV adaptation. It is safe to say that he knows what he is talking about when it comes to anything in that post-apocalyptic universe. Neil believes fans of the games will be very happy with some of the new additions as they adapt the second game.

According to Variety, Neil Druckmann stated that he is “very excited” for the fans to dive into an important backstory that the game just does not explain. Episode three of TLOU season one also had something along those lines with Bill and Frank’s backstory. However, it is not disclosed what character or characters will be getting that treatment this time around.

And there’s stuff in this season that I’m really excited about — stuff that we hinted at — one scene in particular comes to mind that I think fans of the game will eat up, because it really kind of tells you a lot of backstory of this important character that there wasn’t really a way for us to even do that in the game.

TLOU is not just a series about the infected threat that effectively whipped out humanity. It is more than that. Naughty Dog’s game is about love and fighting for those you love. The interactions and relationships between these characters are a crucial part of what makes these shows and games so successful.

The Last Of Us season two is set to release in early 2025, with no official release date right now. However, filming has almost wrapped as fans have seen photos of the sets and costumes on social media. Neil Druckmann seems super excited about what is to come in season two.
