As we know Turtle Rock Studios were some of the geniuses behind the Left 4 Dead games. After making two successful games in the franchise Turtle Rock’s partner popular company Valve had no interest in making a third game. This forced Turtle Rock Studios to make a completely new game called Back 4 Blood.

Back 4 Blood, like its spiritual predecessor, Left 4 Dead, is going to give players ample opportunity to test their skills against one another when it arrives later this year,” according to We Got This Covered.

For those not aware, Turtle Rock’s last game called Evolve is sadly defunct. Evolve still had that team aspect like Left 4 Dead but instead of fighting infected the team of four had to fight a player-controlled giant monster.

‘Left 4 Dead’ fans will likely love ‘Back 4 Blood’

Back 4 Blood is reportedly going to have a kind of swarm player vs player mode much like Left 4 Dead’s vs mode. Two teams of four will battle it out one as the human survivors and one playing as the infected. Each match of “Swarm” will last two rounds with the winner being determined by how well each team did. Back 4 Blood also has a campaign mode where you can play with your friends against computer-controlled infected to complete the story.

Fans of Left 4 Dead are very excited to get an unofficial Left 4 Dead 3 as they should be. Left 4 Dead was loved when it came out in 2008 and even more so when the second one came out in 2009. Back 4 Blood is set to release October 12th, 2021 with an open BETA coming out August 12th which is about a month or so.

As we patiently await the release of Turtle Rock Studios’ Back 4 Blood fans hope it brings back the feelings and memories we had while playing the Left 4 Dead games with our friends.

Back 4 Blood will be heavily compared to the Left 4 Dead games and it has a lot to live up to. But enthusiasts should all feel comfortable that the people behind this game know Left 4 Dead know what the fan base wants to see while playing and hopefully they can deliver a great game.
