They were talking close and holding each other and she was laughing at everything he said, she was enamored and definitely was equally flirting with him and he was really trying to impress her.”
However, some fans can’t help but wonder if Nina Dobrev is using Derek Hough to make her ex-boyfriend and “Vampire Diaries” co-star, Ian Somerhalder, jealous.
Nina Dobrev using Derek Hough to make Ian Somerhalder jealous?

The couple seemed to have a lot of fun together and genuinely enjoy each other’s company but called it quits after only a couple of months. It was reported that their busy schedules got in the way of the relationship.
Since that time Nina Dobrev has been romantically linked to Liam Hemsworth, Orlando Bloom, and her co-star Michael Trevino. However, it seems none of those rumors/flings/relationships worked out.
