The “One Tree Hill” cast wormed their way into viewers’ hearts in the 2000s. The CW teen drama was beloved by millions across the globe. To this day, the series still has tons of fans, with a new generation of Ravens being born daily. In the age of social media apps like TikTok, it’s easier than ever for “OTH” fans to reminisce about their favorite moments and keep up with the stars of the show.
“One Tree Hill” was a series set in North Carolina. The show centered around Lucas Scott and his estranged half-brother, Nathan Scott. The two went to school together but never formed a bond. Their father, Dan Scott, married Nathan’s mother shortly after high school and left Lucas’ mother to raise him on her own. However, the brothers’ love of basketball and their taste in women often had them crossing paths.
Throughout the series, there were several memorable moments. However, it was the “One Tree Hill” cast delivering those emotional scenes that really made the series special. The show ran for nine seasons before finally calling it quits in 2012. Since then, the stars have gone on to do big things in their lives and careers. Let’s check out where they’re at now.

One Tree Hill cast member Chad Michael Murray is the father of three
Chad Michael Murray, who played Lucas Scott on “One Tree Hill,” went through many changes since his days on the show. Murray left the series at the end of Season 6, but returned to make a cameo in Season 9. Since then, he and his wife, Sarah Roemer, have welcomed three children, the newest a baby girl in 2023. Since leaving “OTH,” he’s starred in shows like “Sun Records,” “Scream Queens,” as well as movies for the Lifetime and Hallmark networks. He also made his way back to the CW for a recurring role on “Riverdale.” However, Murray has admitted that he refuses to watch “One Tree Hill.”

Hilarie Burton is married to Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Like Murray, Hilarie Burton also left “OTH” after Season 6 when Lucas and Peyton drove off into the sunset together. Burton played the fan-favorite role of Peyton Sawyer on the series. However, after exiting the show, she admitted that she was assaulted and treated poorly on the set. Burton had roles on “Castle,” “White Collar,” and “Grey’s Anatomy” following her “One Tree Hill” stint. She also appeared on “The Walking Dead” with her real-life husband, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Burton played Morgan’s late wife, Lucille, in a flashback episode. Currently, Burton also has a podcast with her former “OTH” co-stars, Sophia Bush and Bethany Joy Lenz.

James Lafferty still loves basketball
The role of Nathan Scott was played by James Lafferty. Over the years, Lafferty has revealed that he still has a strong love for the game of basketball, much like his “One Tree Hill” character. He’s even played in a Ravens charity game. Post “OTH,” Lafferty has been seen in “All American,” “The Haunting of Hill House,” and “Everyone is Doing Great,” with his former co-star Stephen Colletti.

Sophia Bush has been busy with her TV career
Sophia Bush played the loveable Brooke Davis on “One Tree Hill.” The character won over fans with her total transformation throughout the seasons. She went from a spoiled rich girl to a kind and empathetic friend. During her time on the teen series, Bush starred in movies like “Stay Alive,” “John Tucker Must Die,” and “The Hitcher.” After the show wrapped, she continued her TV career with roles on “Chicago PD,” “This Is Us,” and “Good Sam.” She’s now working on her “Drama Queens” podcast with Burton and Lenz. In 2022, Bush married Grant Hughes. Sadly, after just one year of marriage, the pair called it quits. The marriage was the second for Bush, who was also briefly married to “OTH” co-star Murray.

Bethany Joy Lenz has opened up about her time living in a cult
Bethany Joy Lenz played Haley James Scott on “One Tree Hill.” The character was one half of the iconic duo Nathan and Haley. She also pursued her music career both on and off the show. After the series ended, Lenz continued her music. She also acted on shows such as “Dexter,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “Colony.” She hosts her podcast with her former co-stars and is currently working on a book about her time living in a cult.

Austin Nichols continues to act and direct
Austin Nichols came on board “One Tree Hill” in the later seasons as Julian Baker. The character won over Brooke’s heart and the pair ended up married with twin boys. On the show, Julian was an aspiring director. In reality, Nichols also had an interest in directing while continuing his acting career. After wrapping the teen drama, Nichols went on to land roles on “The Walking Dead,” “Bates Motel,” “Ray Donovan,” and “Walker.”
While the “One Tree Hill” cast is busy doing their own thing, fans are still holding out hope for an eventual reboot or revival of the show. The series could easily pick up with the characters raising their families, as they’re now older and wiser. However, the cast often gets together for reunions where they meet and greet with fans. Only time will tell if they’ll ever reunite for the small screen again.
