Orange Is The New Black fans are in for a treat. The woman whom Piper Kerman based the character Alex Vause from is set to release her own book, detailing her side of the story.
Orange Is The New Black: Cleary Wolters to publish her side of the story
Cleary Wolters, a former friend and lover of Piper Kerman, who wrote the Orange Is The New Black book, which the Netflix series is based on, is set to release her very own book titled Out of Orange.
The new book is set for a May 2015 release, and will cover Cleary Wolters relationship with Piper Kerman, as well as her involvement with drug trafficking, which landed her in jail, Fashion N Style reports.
Cleary Wolters speaks out about new book
“Alex [the character] and Piper have inspired me to tell my whole story — an unbelievable saga that takes place all over the world: Africa, Europe, Asia, and the U.S. both in prison and out,” Wolters said in a statement. “I think people may be surprised at what happened to me after I turned myself in — and where my life is now.”
Orange Is The New Black fans will definitely want to check out this book, and compare it to Piper Kerman’s accounts of what really happened behind bars with she and Cleary Wolters (a.k.a. Alex Vause.)
