Paulina Porizkova is the oldest 2019 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model at age 53, not only does she have a rocking body she is also a grandma according to PopSugar reports.
Paulina Porizkova has proven that in 2019 grandmothers today can still wear that bikini with pride. The model first made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut in 1983, and nearly four decades later Porizkova is back for the upcoming SI 2019 issue.
Paulina spoke with People and revealed she is still surprised to be “the oldest ‘girl’ in the SI stable.”
“My second thought was, oh, yeah, sh*t, that means I will have to pose in a bikini with a bunch of 20-year-olds,” Paulina said about her reaction to appearing in her 10th SI Swimsuit Issue. “It was at once thrilling and disconcerting. Although I am militant about aging women still being sexy and beautiful, I don’t always feel that way. But refusing was out of the question. I was honored to be invited to break a barrier. I would just have to suck it up, or IN, rather, and hope for a photographer who knew his light.”
Porizkova reveals that in the upcoming Swimsuit issue she is wearing the same style of a barely-there bikini as she did 36 years ago. Paulina also reveals that besides modeling she is also an actress, family oriented grandmother of two grandsons. Paulina is currently separated from husband Ric Ocasek from the rock band The Cars.
The SI model married Ocasek in 1989 after first meeting in 1984 during the filming of The Cars’ video “Drive.” The couple has two sons, Jonathan Raven Ocasek and Oliver Ocasek. Her acting credits include guest appearances on Desperate Housewives, soap As the World Turns and several movie bits to name just a few.
The 2019 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue will hit newsstand in May. We have a feeling that there will be a lot of Paulina Porzokova’s grandson’s pals that willing be lining up to go to grandma’s house for years.
