Pedro Pascal is one of the biggest names in Hollywood at the moment. However, that seemingly wasn’t enough to earn him the title of People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive 2023. Instead, that honor went to former “Grey’s Anatomy” star Patrick Dempsey.

Many fans were hoping to see Pedro Pascal grace the cover of the magazine as the Sexiest Man Alive. The actor has had a huge year. He starred in two of the biggest shows on television, “The Last of Us” and “The Mandalorian.” He also landed roles in the “Gladiator” sequel and other films. In addition, Pascal killed his “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut. The actor earned two Emmy nominations for his work this year as well.
Meanwhile, Pascal was all over social media. Fans on TikTok couldn’t stop making steamy edits of the Chiliean-born star. Of course, his Met Gala look, which consisted of a red suit and shorts, had fans talking for weeks.

While Pascal didn’t earn the top honor from People, he was featured in the magazine as one of the sexiest men of the year along with stars like NFL player Jason Kelce, Timothee Chalamet, Jamie Foxx, Lenny Kravitz, and Usher.

When Patrick Dempsey was announced as People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2023, fans had mixed reactions. Many were thrilled that Dempsey was finally getting the recognition and didn’t deny his good looks. However, others couldn’t help but speak out about Pedro Pascal being snubbed for the title.
“I’m just gonna say it, if people magazine chose Pedro Pascal for sexiest man alive, they would’ve sold out of physical copies. The sheer amount of TikToks I’ve seen of him in the past year alone proves that,” one person tweeted. “Pedro Pascal not being voted sexiest man alive for 2023, is quite simply a crime,” another stated.

Patrick Dempsey thrilled about Sexiest Man Alive title
Meanwhile, Patrick Dempsey was over the moon about the honor. The actor has been in the spotlight since the 1980s with roles in films like “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Lover Boy,” and “With Honors.” He went on to star in several more films and make his TV debut as well. Of course, one of his best-known roles is as Dr. Derek Shepherd on “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Dempsey revealed that he was honored to be named Sexiest Man Alive, especially at 57 years old. “I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life,” he says of the title. “It’s nice to have the recognition, and certainly my ego takes a little bump, but it gives me the platform to use it for something positive.”
While 2023 is Patrick Dempsey’s year on the cover, Pedro Pascal fans are hoping he’ll take home the title of Sexiest Man Alive in 2024.
