Pedro Pascal has reportedly been tapped to play none other than Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic. It looks like Marvel has found their latest leading man, and fans couldn’t be more excited about the big “Fantastic Four” news.
Pedro Pascal in talks to play Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic
According to Deadline, Pedro Pascal is in talks to land the role of Reed Richards in Marvle’s “Fantastic Four” film. The deal isn’t officially done yet, but it’s looking good. Insiders reveal that Pascal is trying to work out the scheduling in order to tackle the superhero movie. However, he’s ready to portray Mr. Fantastic on the big screen.
However, scheduling could be a huge problem for Pascal, who is about to get extremely busy now that the Hollywood strikes are over. In addition to his possible Marvel role, the actor has also signed on to star in “Gladiator 2.”
Pedro Pascal has a ton of upcoming projects in the works
Of course, Pedro Pascal fans know that he’s also set to film Season 2 of HBO’s “The Last Of Us” in the near future, as well as shoot the movie “Weapons” as well. Fans can’t forget that Pascal is also the lead actor in the Disney “Star Wars” franchise “The Mandalorian.”
However, over the past couple of years, his face has scarcely been shown. Instead, he’s done more voice acting for the franchise due to the fact that his character, Din Djarin, wears a helmet at nearly all times.
Meanwhile, Hola reports that it’s unlikely fans will see Pascal during Season 4 of the “Star Wars” fan-favorite series. Although, portraying Reed Richards in a Marvel film may be worth shuffling around his schedule.
Marvel has big plans for Fantastic Four
Earlier this year, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, revealed that the Fantastic Four is going to be a “big pillar of the MCU going forward,” per EW.
“Fantastic Four is the foundation for everything that came after in the comics. There’s certainly been versions of it [on screen], but never inhabiting the storytelling of the MCU. And that’s something that is really exciting for us,” he said.
Fantastic Four casting rumors have fans talking
Meanwhile, other casting speculation has “Stranger Things” star Joseph Quinn playing The Human Torch Johnny Storm and Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm’s Invisible Girl. Meanwhile, “The Bear” star Ebon Moss-Bachrach is also rumored to being portraying The Thing or Dr. Doom.
Pedro Pascal fans are thrilled to know that the actor is likely set to step into the huge superhero role. Of course, they can’t wait to see his portrayal of the iconic comic book character.
