Pretty Little Liars season 5, episode 2 airs at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, and it’s set to be a big one.

Pretty Little Liars season 5, episode 2 synopsis — ‘Whirly Girly’

Past events will haunt Aria while Emily, Spencer and Hanna try to adjust to their new lives with Alison back in them.

Meanwhile, Alison has suspicions about her family, namely Jason, who turns back up during the episode.

Kenneth will search for Jessica, and Jason’s odd behavior will raise eyebrows. Does this mean that Jason is A? Well, we’ve been thinking that Jason was on the A-team since the Pretty Little Liars season 6 finale.

Will Alison’s return actually make things worse for Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily? Tune in tonight for the full recap, which will be posted below after the episode.

Pretty Little Liars recap: June 17, 2014

Alison returns back to Rosewood with the girls, but isn’t thrilled about it. Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna convince Ali to go to the police and tell her story.

Detective Holbrook is stunned, but not surprised to see Ali at the police station, and wants to know everything about where she’s been. Alison tells Holbrook that she was kidnapped and held hostage for 2 years, and that her friends saved her life. While Alison is spinning a web of lies about her disappearance, her father walks in and is shocked to see her.

The girls’ families have a lot of questions, which the dodge to the best of their abilities, as everyone is reeling about Alison still being alive. This means the liars are forced to tell a tons of lies when they thought the nightmare may finally be over.

Spencer and Emily see Jason outside cleaning out his car late at night, and think it’s suspicious that he’s doing it after finding out Ali’s still alive. Meanwhile, Alison’s getting cryptic text messages again, but from who?

Alison gets comfortable in her old room again when her father comes in and emotionally apologizes for her ordeal. He reveals he’s worried about not being able to contact his wife.

Later, Mr. D. tells Hanna’s mom that Jason’s acting strange, and hasn’t shed a tear. When Spencer and Emily find a food bag from NYC in Jason’s trash, they speculate that Jason could be A.

Mona is taking action at school by ordering every girl whistles, and asking the principal to get them special apps on their phones. Is this all part of her latest scheme?

Spencer voices her concern about Jason, and Alison believes that he may have been the one who hit her over the head. Spencer returns home to find Toby. Toby tells Spencer that Melissa lied about seeing him in London, and that Ren was staying at her place, not Melissa.

Aria is having a hard time dealing with the fallout of killing Shawna, and A is making it worse by twisting the knife. Hanna’s mom is looking through Mrs. D. emails at the request of Mr. D. and Hanna finds an email from Alison’s mom that says “I can’t protect you anymore.”

Spencer and Toby are making the most of their reunion by falling in to bed together, and she tells him that she wants to go to London with Toby next time, and never come back.

Aria comes home to find Mike and Mona together, and Mona tells Aria that she needs to be more careful about walking around by herself. Jason tells Hanna and Emily to mind their own business.

Emily and Hanna follow Jason and find themselves in a creepy neighborhood.

Alison visits her own grave wearing a black hoodie and Mona follows her. Ali tells Mona that she needs her as a friend. Mona admits to sending the text to Ali. “I don’t have to hide [anymore.] You do,” she says adding that Ali will wish she stayed dead.

Aria freaks out, thinking Mona knows she killed Shawna. Spencer goes over to Ali’s house and finds it quiet, and Jason sitting in the shadows. She confronts him about being in New York, but Alison’s dog starts barking.

The dog has found Mrs. D.’s dead body buried in the backyard, and yet another shocking death has stunned Rosewood. Alison watches as her mother’s body is taken away.
