Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have reportedly been excluded from yet another royal family event. The duo are allegedly not expected to be in attendance to celebrate Harry’s father, King Charles III, on his birthday later this month.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle didn’t get an invite to King Charles’ birthday party
According to the New York Post, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were seemingly not wanted at the event. King Charles is celebrating his 75th birthday on November 14. The monarch is said to be having a party at Clarence House in London to commemorate the milestone birthday. However, Meghan and Harry were allegedly not invited to honor the king on his special day.
Other prominent members of the Royal Family such as Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Queen Camilla will be at the party. Originally, it was reported by The Sunday Times that Harry and Meghan declined an offer to celebrate with King Charles. However, after being asked, a rep for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed that they were never invited to the event.
“In response to UK media headlines, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to his majesty’s upcoming birthday,” Ashley Hansen told the outlet. “It is disappointing the Sunday Times has misreported this story.”
The royal feud is apparently still burning
Just five years ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle delayed their honeymoon in order to attend King Charles’ 70th birthday bash. However, things have changed massively since that time. The Sussexes have officially left the Royal Family, moved to California, and spoken out negatively about the monarchy.
Harry also wrote a memoir titled “Spare.” In the book he wrote about his stepmother, Queen Camilla, who was reportedly hurt by his words. In addition, Harry has reportedly had several issues with his older brother, Prince William. Since leaving the Royal Family, Harry and William have only reunited a handful of times.
Harry last returned to the UK in September to honor the late Queen Elizabeth
Prince Harry headed home to the UK in September to pay his respects to his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, on the one-year anniversary of her death. However, Harry didn’t visit Charles or William during the trip.
Harry and Meghan have built a life together in California. They live with their children, Archie and Lillibet. In October, they were photographed taking the kids trick-or-treating to celebrate the Halloween holiday.
