Priscilla Presley has been taking a walk down memory lane today, May 1st the day she married the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley in 1967. Priscilla took to her Instagram account and posted a loving photo of herself and Elvis Presley kissing on their wedding day on what would have been the couple’s 52nd wedding anniversary had they not divorced on October 9, 1973.
It is no secret that Elvis fans considered Priscilla Presley the luckiest woman alive when she won the heart of Elvis more than 5 decades ago. Cillia, as Elvis affectionately called her, is also the mother of his only child, Lisa Marie Presley. Priscilla captioned her loving memory photo share with some of Elvis’ song lyrics.
What started out having all fans believing was a fairy tale wedding and marriage made in heaven left fans all shook up when they learned that what they thought was the perfect couple was ending their union after only six short years of marriage.
As time went on and the shock of the couple’s split lessened fans began to learn more and more details that were revealed by Priscilla that her marriage to Elvis was not all everyone thought it to be and that the King was not as innocent and pure as his millions of adoring fans had made him out to be.
As previously reported Priscilla Presley has spoken out numerous times over the decades revealing more and more private details about her personal and private life with Elvis Presley.
There was also the release of a rare audio of a Las Vegas concert reveals Elvis Presley speaking to the fans about some intimate personal subjects concerning his life and divorce with Priscilla Presley.
“The thing I’m trying to get across,” Elvis began. “We’re the very best of friends and we always have been. Our divorce came about not because of another man, or another woman, but because of the circumstances involving my career.” “I was traveling too much, I was gone too much and it was just an agreement. I didn’t think it was fair to her, that I was gone too much. “We just made an agreement to always be friends and be close and care because we have a daughter to raise.”
Many Elvis Presley fans have come to think that Priscilla Presley used Elvis after the divorce to get ahead and continues to use the Presley name and her controlling interest in Graceland to pad her bank account which they feel is just wrong.
Despite what Elvis Presley fans have come to think about his ex-wife Priscilla Presley one thing will always remain a fact, Elvis fell in love with her and despite the divorce and any personal problems the two had over the years, they reportedly remained in love, and extremely close right up until his death on August 16, 1977, and according to Priscilla if Elvis was still with us they would still be the best of friends and each other’s one true love.
