Priscilla Presley‘s recent appearance at Salt Lake City’s FanX turned into a special event for not only her fans but also for the former wife of the late King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. The event, which was attended by tens of thousands of people over three days, was a platform for Priscilla to share her memories of Elvis. Before the show, Priscilla was asked to share her favorite thing about Elvis, which she sometimes finds somewhat difficult to do.
According to Desert News, Priscilla laughed, saying, “I’m a private person. I don’t tell things about myself.” Presley made clear during the FanX convention, which tens of thousands of people attended over three days, that her primary focus was keeping Elvis’s spirit alive.
Although Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977, nearly five decades ago, the entertainment icon has certainly never faded from the spotlight. In fact, there has been a renewed interest in him, with a new generation of fans discovering his music and legacy. This resurgence of interest can be attributed to various factors, including films like Coppola’s Priscilla and Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, as well as Lisa Marie Presley‘s post-death memoir.
Priscilla states, “That really fuels me a lot to be able to share him. I never used to want to share him before, back in the day,” she joked to a crowd of a few hundred fans. “A lot of kids now are very, very fascinated with him. It’s just nice to see that they ask about him, want to know more about him. They come from about 7 years old all the way up to 80. That’s my mission. It is for me to have the younger generation know who he was. Who he was and what he stood for.”
Priscilla Presley Fondly Her Time With Elvis Presley
Priscilla Presley shared some of her fondest memories. Everything from his proposal to laughing while watching Johnny Carson to going to the movies on a nightly basis. Her joy was palpable as she recounted these moments. Each memory filled with warmth and love for the man she knew.
“He had the best personality. Elvis was so loving, he was caring. He had a great love for his father and especially his mother, who, when he lost, he actually lost a little bit of him. They were very, very close,” she said. “He was just fun to be around, great laugh.”
Priscilla admits that her memories of her former life with Elvis are all she has these days to remember him. She also admitted that she loves nothing more than the happiness his fans bring her with their love. She deeply values. continued dedication, support, and love.
“I love the fact that all of you are here today,” she said. “I love the fact that Elvis is still today almost as important as he was in his lifetime. The amount of people that still come to see him (at Graceland) is just unbelievable, the love that they have for him. I miss him very, very much.”
