However, the grieving mom reveals that with the movie coming out, she knew she wouldn’t be able to avoid it for long. She also admits that she knew she would have to discuss her family’s recent tragedies. Something she knew would be extremely painful for her.

When asked if she has a favorite song of Elvis that she finds most comforting to her. ‘Memories,’ she replied without hesitation. ‘Yes, pressed between the pages of my mind. I don’t listen to [his] songs very often because I go into another place, but sometimes I am a little surprised at myself that I still get emotional, and love is still there. He is still so present.’

Priscilla Describes Her Last Night With Lisa Marie Presley

Lisa Marie Presley and her mother, Priscilla Presley’s last evening together before she died was a special one for the Presley family. The two women spent the evening celebrating Austin Butler’s Golden Globe award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Elvis.

Priscilla recalled that Lisa Marie didn’t look well that evening. “I was concerned. She asked Jerry Schilling, one of my best friends, if he could hold her. Her heels were high, but she had worn them before, and I thought, ‘is she OK?’ She didn’t really look that OK. She looked very frail.

“Then we watched the show, and we had a few laughs, and we were all excited about Austin Butler and Baz, and the movie went so well, we were proud of them, then we started to go, and she said ‘#Mom, do you want to go to Chateau Marmont and have a drink?'”

The grief-stricken mother next recalls in great detail the next moments. “We both had our high heels on, and both of us tripped on the staircase, and we started laughing and giggling, then we went and sat down, and she said, ‘Mom, I have to go, my stomach really hurts.’ I go, ‘of course, are you OK?’ She goes, ‘yes, yes, I just really have to go’. And I go, ‘OK, we will get the cars now’. Then I hugged her, and she went her way, and I went mine, and that hug was the last hug I gave her.”

Two days later, on January 12, Priscilla received a call from her daughter’s ex-husband, Danny Keough, telling her that Lisa Marie was in the hospital and that she needed to get there immediately. Sadly, by the time Priscilla Presley arrived, it was too late. Her daughter was gone.” It was unbearable. I lost my mother, I lost my grandson, and I lost my daughter. It’s still shocking that we don’t have her.”

Lisa Marie Never Got Over Losing Benjamin

Priscilla Presley admits that her daughter never got over losing her only son, Benjamin Storm Keough. She also admits that Lisa Marie struggled with depression and had been feeling this way since his death.

“Losing Ben was the hardest thing for her. He took his own life, and he was the love of her life, that child, she adored him. She would do anything for him, anything. And we were in Memphis, sitting up in the suite, and she said, ‘Mom, I don’t know if I want to be here,’ and I go, ‘what are you talking about?’ ‘You know, my Ben,’ and she would go on about Ben and how she is still grieving, and this was a couple of months before.”

Next, Priscilla Presley reportedly broke down and began to cry. She asked to stop filming and to give her time to regain her composure. Piers Morgan asked Priscilla Presley one last question during this telling and heartbreaking interview.
