Hollywood News Daily reports, on July 12, the 27-year-old son of Lisa Marie Presley died tragically from a self-inflicted gunshot. Keough’s death was ruled a suicide.
Priscilla Presley steps up for Lisa Marie
Benjamin, Lisa Marie’s only son is often described by fans and friends as appearing troubled. Those following the Presley family began sharing Keough’s Instagram photos revealing Ben’s dark, sad, and distant appearing eyes. They also note that it was very rare that Ben was ever seen publicly, or photographed smiling.
It is a very difficult time for Lisa Marie who continues to mourn the loss of her only son. Priscilla reveals she plans to be there for her daughter as long as necessary. However, she is still trying to heal herself.
“Trying to put all the pieces together of all the possible whys has penetrated my soul. Each day I wake up I pray it will get better,” Priscilla wrote. “I think of my daughter and the pain she is going through as she was a doting mother. Ben’s father, Danny, is completely lost, as Ben was his only son. Riley, so loving and so close to him; Harper and Finley, who absolutely adored Ben. Navarone, who struggles deeply with loss and death. Rest In Peace Ben, you were loved.”
Lisa Marie Presley devastated by son’s death
Elvis fans often refer to him as his grandfather Elvis’ look-a-like. As Lisa’s only son she holds a very special place in her heart for him.
Sources close to the Presley family state to Ok Magazine that Priscilla is the family’s rock at this time. “The sense of loss has been unbearable.”
“Priscilla is leading the charge making sure everyone is eating and taking care of themselves as best they can. It’s been such a blessing to have her in their lives.” Priscilla Presley is reportedly staying by Lisa Marie’s side since Ben’s passing. She has taken over the daily chores including grocery shopping, paying bills.
“For Priscilla, family is what matters most. She puts them first and doesn’t dwell on the past. She’s been a rock to everyone around her,” the source adds.
2020 was a very hard year for Lisa Marie, with Ben’s death, finalizing her divorce and custody battle with ex- Michael Lockwood among the pandemic has placed her under tremendous stress.
Lisa Marie reveals Graceland graveyard haunts her
Benjamin Storm Keough has been laid to rest in the Presley family plot at Graceland. According To Lisa Marie, this is the one place at her late father’s home that haunts her.
When asked as to whether she would also be buried in the Presley family graveyard, Lisa answers,
“All the graves all lineup. There’s a spot there, waiting for me, right next to my grandmother. I don’t plan on anything. I’m sure I’ll end up there.”
