PUBG Players, a new season is upon us, and with it some major changes to the game! Alongside Season 24 Of PUBG: Battlegrounds every player now drops in with a Tactical Gear Pack. After opening the pack you then get to choose between the following devices. A Blue Chip Detector, Drone, EMT Gear, Repair Kit, Spotter Scope, or a Tactical Pack. There is one small catch though, and that is once you choose one of the items listed above you are stuck with it until the next match!
What Items Can You Get?
Once you choose your item it is designated to a specific slot in the player’s inventory where it does not have any weight. To equip your item the player must hit the left bumper and either Y or Triangle (on a controller). Each item has its own advantages. The Blue Chip Detector allows you to see opponents’ movements when activated. The Drone allows players to scout ahead and mark other players for a short time.
EMT Gear allows players to heal each other and revive downed players faster. A Repair Kit has 10 uses and a player can fix anything from a vehicle to their armor. Spotter Scopes can be useful in long-range combat as you can mark enemies for your whole team to see. Last but not least the Tactical Pack allows you to carry extra weapons and ammo for yourself or your team.
Know that if you die in-game your character will not drop a tactical item. Instead, the item and the gear carrier are removed from the game. Meaning that if you get recalled you will not be able to choose a new tactical gear. The new tac gear pack is meant to encourage the players to try out new items. Before the update, if you found one of the listed items it would take up a weapon slot. This deterred many players from picking up those items.
Coordination Is Key!
Now everyone on the team can have a tac gear item. Players will now have to communicate even more to have the best possible combinations of items. These items can be the difference in the game! Being able to know where a player is before going for the kill is a huge advantage. Being able to revive your team fast could be the deciding factor between a win or loss. It will be very interesting to see how these now widespread items will affect the flow of the matches.
