Reports by New Idea claim that Kevin Costner has been hoping to work with Reese Witherspoon for quite some time. The pair have started talks about finding a project to work on together. However, the working relationship has allegedly escalated into something more than friendship.
“Kevin’s had his eye on Reese ever since she won her Oscar, but he didn’t count on finding her absolutely charming as hell. They’ve been calling and texting on the pretense of finding the perfect script, but it’s becoming almost a daily occurrence,” the source revealed.
Meanwhile, the “Yellowstone” star is said to be focused on earning another Oscar and is being careful not to let his affection for Witherspoon overshadow his career at the moment.
“Kevin wants more Oscars for this, not tabloid headlines,” the source dishes. “He and Reese are always careful not to be seen together, but as soon as his ‘Horizon’ commitments are done, they may be more relaxed about being seen together in public.”

Reese Witherspoon and her husband of 12 years, Jim Toth, announced their divorce earlier this year. The pair share one son together, Tennessee. Following the divorce, the “Sweet Home Alabama” star told Harper’s Bazaar that she was feeling very “vulnerable.”
“We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together,” Witherspoon said of her split with Toth.
Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner’s divorce got messy
Meanwhile, Kevin Costner is no stranger to divorce drama. The actor and his wife, Christine Baumgartner, finalized their divorce in September after a messy legal battle. The couple were married in 2004. They share three children, Cayden, Hayes, and Grace. Costner allegedly took the end of his marriage hard, as Baumgartner reportedly believed he put his work ahead of his marriage and family (via Us Weekly).
“Kevin loves his wife and children so this has been very hard on him. He is saying that this is his worst nightmare and he would do anything for his family.”
