Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Lisa Rinna recently shared some pretty terrifying details regarding her past struggles with mental health. At one point, things became so out of control that her husband, Harry Hamlin, was forced to step in and intervene.
During a recent episode of Lisa Rinna’s podcast show, Let’s Not Talk About the Husband, Lisa detailed just how serious her battle with postpartum depression became following the births of her two daughters, Deliah Belle and Amelia Gray.
Lisa Rinna admits it was a very dark and frightening time for her. Things had gotten completely out of control. However, Lisa had no idea just how crazy things were getting until Harry Hamlin revealed she had threatened to kill him.
“I had horrible postpartum depression, but I didn’t know it,” Rinna tells her listeners on Friday, April 18. According to her husband, actor Harry Hamlin, Lisa had threatened to kill him more than once. The news was so unsettling for Lisa that she warned Harry to keep all the knives in the house away from her.
Lisa Rinna Violent Hallucinations Get Out Of Control
“I don’t remember saying it,” Lisa admitted, “but I was having horrible hallucinations of killing people. I needed the knives out of the house. The visions I had were terrifying visions of driving into a brick wall.” The psychological toll was crushing. “I was completely psychotic,” she said.
Lisa reveals that despite the violent thoughts and hallucinations, not once did she ever have any intentions of harming her children. Harry Hamlin finally convinced Lisa to call her doctor. Lisa admits that she was prescribed antidepressants right away.
The medication began to work almost immediately. Lisa Rinna claims she was back to her old self before she knew it. The former Bravo star concluded the podcast by noting the importance of speaking openly about postpartum depression. As so many people face it without support. “Listen, I don’t think any woman should suffer or have to suffer going through postpartum depression,” she said. “And I know a lot do, and I know a lot do in silence.”

However, it was her no-filter, no-apologies persona on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills that truly made her a household name. Lisa stirred up drama and chaos between herself and her RHOBH castmates for eight seasons before her exit in 2023.
Nowadays, Lisa prefers calm over chaos. She spends her time with her family while focusing on growing her acting career and her podcast show. When asked if she would ever consider returning to RHOBH, Lisa Rinna claims that for now, she has no need, nor plans to do so.
