Evan Mobley on social media

With the third overall pick Evan Mobley shut down for the remainder of the 2021 NBA summer league many fans were upset and said that the Cavs were not giving Mobley enough time to get ready for the upcoming season. Another concern from fans is that Mobley was not producing like they thought he would. Luckily Richard Jefferson stepped in and set everything straight.

“No top 5 player was made a hero in Summer league. Get a sample size of things needed to work on then get back to work and get ready for the season. Love the plan.” Jefferson said, per Cavaliers Nation.

Through the games, Evan Mobley played he averaged 11 points per game, 7 rebounds per game, 3 rebounds per game, and 1 block per game. Mobley was the third overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft but his offensive game is still a little raw. Cleveland is hoping when they add their other young talent around him that his offensive game will skyrocket.

Richard Jefferson agrees with the team’s summer league plan for Mobley

Darius Garland has stated that he feels it is his responsibility to help Mobley get ready for the NBA and help him develop. We will have to wait to see how well Mobley plays around the other young players in the starting lineup.

Mobley has great potential if he is developed in the correct way. The Cavs have the team to help Evan Mobley get to the star status that he is capable of but they will have to put in the work. Even if Mobley is not playing summer league he is still working out with the rest of the team including Collin Sexton, Jarrett Allen, and Darius Garland. Evan Mobley has the drive to be one of the best players in the league in the future and the Cavs and their players are going to help him get there.

It will be very interesting to see how Evan Mobley Develops and what kind of player he will turn out to be in the near future. With the other young players around him, Mobley has the opportunity to thrive in Cleveland and most NBA insiders believe he will do just that and all he needs is a little time to get more comfortable in the NBA. For right now all we can do is wait and see what happens when the season rolls around. Cavalier fans should be very excited about what is to come for Cleveland basketball
