ABC’s new summer singing competition show, “Rising Star,” has officially named their four judges. Kesha, Brad Paisley, Ludacris, and Josh Groban have all signed on to judge the series.

The show will be much like “American Idol” and “The Voice,” and will feature singers who are trying to break through and get record deals, as famous faces in music judge them on their talents.
While “American Idol’s” popularity has been declining for years, the show was recently renewed by Fox, and NBC’s “The Voice,” is a ratings powerhouse, so ABC’s “Rising Star” will have its work cut out to gain viewers.
How will ‘Rising Star’ stack up against ‘Idol’ and ‘The Voice?’
The fact that it’s a summer show should help, as “Idol,” and “The Voice” will be on hiatus during this time, and hopefully, the show will gain some viewers who are missing those competition shows.
Meanwhile, the big name judges will also have to win over viewers with funny banter, good recognition of talent, and of course, entertainment value.
