With all the Star Wars projects revealed a while ago the Ashoka Tano spinoff show is by far one of the most anticipated by the fans as Ashoka was introduced to us in the Clone Wars show and quickly became a fan favorite.

Ashoka made her live-action debut in Star Wars: The Mandalorian and then again in The Book Of Boba Fett. Rosario Dawson was cast to play an older version of everyone’s favorite Togruta force user. Dawson was the perfect choice to play an older and wiser Ashoka Tano who would be in her late 30s or early 40s.

“Yes, we’re still filming it right now. We just have a couple of months left. It’s going great. It’s really amazing learning martial arts in my 40s. [Laughs] It’s super amazing, and I don’t use that word very lightly. My grandmother used to say, ‘Amazing is two blue horses,’ if you ever said something was amazing. Because it’d be like, ‘No, amazing is two blue horses. That pizza slice probably isn’t amazing.” said Dawson.

How does Dawson feel about playing Ashoka?

“It’s so empowering, that the more I am learning, the stronger I feel connected to Ahsoka. I’ve done so much researching the show, but so much of her is her physicality and her capabilities, and it feels amazing that I am physically embodying this character in a real way. Not just bringing her to live action but really understanding her process…I love her and she’s changing my life.” according to Star Wars News Net.com

It seems that Ashoka will be doing a lot more fighting in this coming series and we are sure that is a good thing as we will really get to see more of what an older, more powerful Ashoka Tano can really do in her prime.

With Dave Filoni serving as the show’s showrunner, fans can rest assured that the series will make sense in the vast lore of Star Wars and have good storytelling. Timeline wise it is kind of uncharted territory for Star Wars canon as it would be after The Mandalorian and before The Book Of Boba Fett.

New Info soon?

With filming coming to an end this Fall it seems like we will be getting Ashoka early next year sometime in the early months of 2023. There is not a whole lot of information out there right now, but with Disney Plus Day going on we may get some new information on a lot of Star Wars projects soon. All we can do for now is wait and see what happens.
