“Roseanne” aired the latest installment of the revival this week, and fans were excited to see that actor Johnny Galecki return to reprise his role as Darlene Conner’s husband, David Healey.
During the brand new episode of “Roseanne,” it was revealed that David would be returning to Lanford to celebrate his daughter Harris’ birthday. In the past, David has flaked out on the occasion, so Harris was not expecting too much from her father. When David showed up the night before her birthday at Darlene’s bedroom window, things got interesting.
“Roseanne” fans watched as David told Darlene that he had signed a lease on a house and would be moving back to Lanford. He also revealed that he had a new girlfriend named Blue, and that she had taught him so much about himself. David claimed that he was finally ready to give Darlene a divorce, but that is not what she wanted. Instead, the couple ended up in bed together with plans of getting back together.

Sadly, things didn’t work out the way they had planned. Both Roseanne and Becky were upset to hear that Darlene and David slept together, telling Darlene that the pair made a terrible couple and that their marriage was dead. Darlene eventually saw the light and told David that while she wanted him to be the best father possible to their kids, Harris and Mark, she couldn’t break their hearts again when the relationship did work out. The two parted as friends in an emotional goodbye.
However, many “Roseanne” fans believe that since the show has been picked up for a second season of the revival that Johnny Galecki may return to the series. This means that there is still hope for David and Darlene, who clearly still love each other very much and have a very long history that is hard to ignore.
“Roseanne’ airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. on ABC.
