Russell Crowe is best known for his hit film Gladiator stunned fans who had to do a double take with his shocking body transformation according to Radar Online. Crowe was spotted on Tuesday on the set of his upcoming new film The Loudest Voice in The Room looking virtually nothing like he has ever looked before.
The full body transformation that Russell Crowe has endured for the film is amazing, and quite shocking. The 54-year-old actor really goes above and beyond when he commits to a film role. Even if that means gaining an alarming amount of weight, and shaving his head.

While most fans are not concerned at all over the shaved head, hair usually grows back at a rapid speed, it is though very concerning to see not just Russell Crowe, but an actor, or actress gain or lose a large number of pounds.
Most doctors will tell you gaining or losing weight too much too soon can bring on some serious health problems, some potentially fatal. Many fans still remember the transformation Matthew McConaughey, made for Dallas Buyers Club. McConaughey claims he quickly lost 40 pounds for the role. However, he gained 47 for his role in Gold.
Actress, Charlize Theron put on a whopping 50 pound for her role in Tully by eating mac and cheese in the middle of the night. Quickly gained, is slowly lost in some cases revealing it took her a year and a half to drop the weight.
Christian Bale in The Machinist dropped an incredible 63 pounds for the movie. Tom Hanks claims he lost 50 while filming Castaway, he also reveals that the poor eating habits are a huge contributing factor in his Type 2 diabetes diagnosis a few later. Losing may appear easier to do however it is the gaining that most agree are more fun at the time. Matthew Damon packed on 30 lbs for his role in The Informant. Bradley Cooper plus 40 for Sniper.
Rob McElhenney spent five months gaining 50 pounds to make his character funnier on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Last but never least Ryan Gosling reveals gaining 60 pounds for “The Lovely Bones” by drinking melted ice cream.
