Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were just two of the celebrities who stepped out at the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary celebration on Sunday. The couple, who have been making headlines for months due to their lawsuit drama with Justin Baldoni, looked stunning as they dressed up for the event. However, the pair later dropped jaws when Reynolds made an awkward joke about the scandal with Lively looking shocked by his side.
During the SNL 50 celebration, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were seen taking questions from many famous audience members. At one point, Ryan Reynolds stood up to ask his own question, and all eyes were on the actor and his wife, Blake Lively. When Ryan rose from his seat, Tina and Amy smiled and greeted him.
“How’s it going?” they asked the actor. “Great,” he responded. “Why? What have you heard?” he added, getting an array of laughs from the audience as it was clear he was referencing the scandal with Baldoni. After Reynolds’ small joke, Lively looked up at her husband with a look of what some are calling fear on her face.

“Blake looked like she wasn’t expecting that skit,” one person pointed on via X.
“Pure terror,” another said, captioning a photo of Lively in that moment.
“Blake wasn’t in on the joke. OMG her face,” another stated.
“Blake didn’t seem to like that one,” a fourth comment read.
The Saturday Night Live outing marks the first public appearance together for the couple since the lawsuit scandal broke late last year. So, during their first night out, a joke was already made about it.
Meanwhile, other fans called out SNL for allowing Blake and Ryan to do “damage control,” and even accused the show of choosing sides in the complicated lawsuit.
There were whispers of a feud between Lively and Baldoni after their film, It Ends With Us, was being promoted. However, it wasn’t until months after the move premiered that Blake filed a lawsuit against Justin for sexual harassment. The actor/director later filed his own lawsuit against the actress and her husband. Baldoni claimed that Lively’s claims of harassment were false, and shared evidence to the contrary.
Both of the stars’ legal teams have spoken out about the situation. However, it seems that the lawsuits are leading toward a messy courtroom battle in the near future. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds will attempt another public outing soon after their awkward joke was met with major criticism online.
