Scott Stapp has explained his odd outbursts from last November claiming that he is bipolar, and prescription drug abuse had brought on his manic psychosis bouts. Scott Stapp, 41, made headlines in November when he released a disturbing video in which he rambled that he was broke and “under some kind of pretty vicious attack.”

Former Creed singer reveals he is bipolar

The former Creed frontman has openly admitted that he was completely out of control describing himself as delusional and paranoid. Scott Stapp told ABC News. “I was driving around with … a 12-gauge shotgun in my lap. And I thought that people were trying to kill me.” Eventually Scott’s wife Jaclyn was forced to call 911 fearing for her husband’s safety.

Scott Stapp is sober now

Jaclyn told the 911 operator that Scott believed he was part of the CIA and had made potential threats about President Obama and that he was being targeted by the government.

Scott reveals for months he was hallucinating and spent a month driving around the country in his car, following an angel that he saw on the hood.”In my delusional thinking, I thought my family was involved in ISIS, and that millions of dollars had been taken from me to support terrorism,” he continues. “All of it was nonsense. I was out of my mind.”

Stapp finally ended up hitting his bottom and ended up in rehab where he received the bipolar diagnoses, He reveals that he is ‘lucky to be alive’ and credits treatment and the support of his wife and family to aiding in sobriety and is living life one day at a time. Stapp reveals he is now sober and continuing to undergo therapy, takes his medication and is working through a 12-step program. We here at HND wish Scott Stapp continued success and good health as continues his recovery.
