Selena Gomez is reportedly dealing with the news of ex-Justin Bieber’s engagement to Hailey Baldwin by with booze according to new reports.
This news wouldn’t be quite as disturbing to Selena Gomez fans if not for one critical detail…Gomez suffers from Lupus and underwent a potentially life-threatening kidney transplant surgery back in September according to Radar Online.
As previously reported, Selena Gomez disappeared off of her fan’s radar last late last summer only to resurface revealing that she had undergone a secret kidney transplant. Selena revealed the transplant details to fans last fall via social media stating she had received a donor kidney from her close friend, actress Francia Raisa and remains on a strict health watch.
Gomez was reportedly firmly told following her surgery that she needed to steer clear of any activities that could potentially put her health at risk, especially drinking alcohol. Reports reveal that Selena Gomez was spotted at a Four Seasons Hotel in NYC drinking hard liquor shots after getting the news that Justin Bieber and Hailey had officially confirmed the news of their engagement.
Various celebrity news sites reported that Selena was unphased by Justin’s recent life-changing announcement, however, fans are now worried that Selena is not handling the news quite as well as she has reportedly been letting on. New York City-based rheumatologist, Dr. Robert Fafalak, who has not treated Gomez told RO that if the singer continues to indulge in alcohol she could be placing her life in serious risk.
“The fact that she’s taking what sounds like a very high amount of alcohol can definitely become threatening to not only making her lupus worse but therefore potentially threatening her life,” Fafalak said.
Dr. Fafalak claims that since Selena Gomez’s lupus condition is “severe” enough to warrant a kidney transplant that is is extremely dangerous to be drinking alcohol. Sources close to the singer have allegedly revealed that Selena is hurt and shocked by Justin’s whirlwind engagement and if she continues handling the news in this manner her health will quickly spiral out of control placing her life in dire straits.
