Sex and The City is one of the most iconic TV shows of all time. The HBO series followed the lives of four single best friends living in New York City. The women, Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha, shared their lives together, both the good and the bad. The stellar cast included Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and Kim Cattrall.

Sex and The City produced six seasons as well as two feature-length films. The story of the four friends resonated with many around the globe, as everyone could see a bit of themselves in each character. During the series’ run there were so many moments that fans will never forget and we’re breaking them down.

Sex And The City sweetest moment: Smith supports Samantha by shaving his head

Remember when Samantha was diagnosed with breast cancer? It was a horrible and heartbreaking situation, but she always kept her head up. She did everything she could to see the best doctors and keep a positive outlook. When she started her chemo treatments her hair began to fall out. Of course, she decided to shave her head. At the time, her movie star boyfriend, Smith, supported her by doing the same. Smith’s hair was one of his most loved qualities. However, all he wanted was to be there for Samantha.

Charlotte finds her true love in Harry

Sex and The City fans watched Charlotte look for love throughout the series. She even got married to Trey, who she thought was her perfect match. However, she soon realized that while they appeared perfect they certainly were not. After Charlotte and Trey divorced, she fell hard for her divorce lawyer, Harry. The two later married and started a family together.

Aiden takes Carrie back

After Carrie broke Aiden’s heart by cheating on him with Mr. Big, he was devastated. However, when they met again things were a bit different. Aiden has loosened up a bit and looked better than ever. Carrie knew she wasn’t over him and immediately tried to get back into his good graces. Eventually, Aiden let his guard down and the two began dating again. Sadly, they broke up after getting engaged as Carrie just wasn’t ready or marriage.

Miranda and Steve get married

Over the years, Miranda proved to be fiercely independent. However, there was one man who made her feel like she could be in a long-term relationship. Steve and Miranda were a hit from the start. Not only did like love each other, they liked each other. When they welcomed their son, fans knew they wanted the pair to be endgame. Finally, Steve and Miranda got married in a small ceremony.

Big goes to Paris to get Carrie

After Carrie moved to Paris in the final season of Sex and The City, viewers knew that things could end like that. Big had finally realized that Carrie was the love of his life and he needed to win her back. He asked Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha for permission and then headed to Paris. The two reconciled, and as we know from the movies and the sequel series, the two got married and lived out their lives together.

Carrie sees Aiden with his baby

Although Carrie and Aiden’s romance didn’t work out, fans still loved Aiden. In later seasons of the show, Carrie and Aiden have a chance meeting on a NYC sidewalk. The share smiles and Aiden is carrying his baby boy. Carrie is happy for her former fiance and it looks like he finally got what he wanted.

Carrie’s professional achievements

Over the years, Carrie went from writing a sex column in a smallish New York newspaper to writing for Vogue. She was also featured in the magazine during the first film! In addition, Carrie’s columns were turned into books that led her career in a new direction. In the sequel series “And Just Like That,” Carrie has also moved into the podcast game.

The final Sex and The City scene

For years, viewers were not let in on Mr. Big’s real name. It was teased multiple times, although the show kept his name a secret until the final moment of the show. In the last scene, Carrie happily answers her phone for Big and the caller ID reveals that his name is John. In the first film, fans learn that his full name is John James Preston.

Charlotte gets  baby

Sex and The City fans watched Charlotte and Harry struggle with infertility. They even suffered a miscarriage. Finally, they decided to adopt a child and ran into some bumps in the road with that as well. In the series finale, Charlotte and Harry excitedly learn that they were approved to receive a little girl from China, whom they later named Lily. In the first film, Charlotte gets pregnant and gives birth to another girl named Rose.

Sex and The City emotional moment: When Miranda’s mother dies

Although the episode was heartbreaking in many ways, it also had some positive moments. Not only did Carrie find the perfect way to be there for Miranda during the dark moment, Steve and Aiden also made an appearance at the funeral. Not to mention, the scene where the saleslady hugs Miranda as she cries in the dressing room is beyond emotional.

Sex and The City soulmates for life

When Carrie celebrates her 35th birthday she begins to feel bad about being single. She thought her life would look different and her friends are there to pick her up. Charlotte suggests that the women all be each other’s soulmates and let the men in their lives be a source of fun. The women agree and have a sweet moment was celebrating Carrie’s birthday. Later, Big surprises her with balloons and reminds her that she’s love and that her life is meaningful.

Sex and The City is one show that fans will always be able to return to. It’s a comfort show and all about women empowerment and friendship. It’s hard not to like the HBO series, the movies, and even the sequel.
