Shameless Season 11 is set to be the last in the Gallagher family’s story, and fans can’t help but wonder if the oldest sibling, Fiona (Emmy Rossum) will return in any of the final episodes. If so, will she have a special guest with her?
Shameless will begin airing its final season on Showtime next month. Viewers are hoping that storylines get wrapped up for each of the Gallaghers, including Fiona, who hasn’t been seen since the end of Season 9 when Rossum opted to leave the series.
At the time, Fiona wanted to re-evaluate her life and start fresh. She believed that she couldn’t do that in Chicago with the drama that her family also created holding her back. So, after years of being the head of the household and taking care of everyone else, she decided to leave the South Side, and take some time for herself to learn and grown into the adult that she wanted to be.
Fiona sold her assets and left a good chunk of change for the family. The other Gallagher sister, Debbie (Emma Kenney) then began to assume the role that Fiona left behind. She took the money and began to buy things she deemed necessary to the family’s existence. She also demanded that each member of the clan, including young Liam, get a job and pitch in a percentage of the monthly bills.
With the end looming, fans won’t be happy unless they find out what happened to Fiona. What has she been doing over the past year that she’s been gone, and did she ever reunite with her most beloved boyfriend, Jimmy Steve.
Fiona and Jimmy met back in Season 1 and instantly fell in love. He seemed like the perfect fit for Fiona, but he was carrying a secret. The couple ended up splitting, but came together again for a later season reunion.
Since the series is ending, now seems like it would be the perfect time to bring Fiona and Jimmy Steve back together, and give them the happy ending that many viewers would love to see.
As previously reported by Hollywood News Daily, there may be a big event that brings Fiona home to Chicago. Some viewers believe that there could be one final and shocking death before the series finale, which could leave the Gallaghers and fans saying goodbye to the family’s patriarch, Frank Gallagher (William H. Macy), if he dies to end the series.
Shameless Season 11 will premiere on Showtime on Sunday, December 6.
