Shameless fans are torn about the Season 9 finale which airs on Sunday night. They all are well aware that there are some big changes about to go down.

Sadly in the Shameless finale of 2019, we know we are saying goodbye to a core member of the Gallagher family dynamics. Emily Rossum, who plays Fiona Gallagher makes her final appearance in the episode and it is a tearjerker.
The show opens up with Carl and Debbie heading out to take revenge out on Kelly who has broken both of their Gallagher hearts. Fiona is deep in thought and has a heart to heart with father Frank as he lies on the couch recovering from his nasty broken leg.
Frank is giving all the kids a lot of attitude with his whining and complaining He will be down for several months and must rely on his children to take shifts to care for his every need. Which includes distributing his pain meds and emptying his bedpan.
Liam is still missing in action and avoiding all of his sibling’s texts and calls. Lip and Fiona discuss Frank’s situation before Fiona heads off to court. The Gallagher kids decide that Frank needs a home health care worker, which they claim he can pay for with the money he made from stepping away from Ingrid.
Kevin is finally recovered from his vasectomy and he and Vee are enjoying all the benefits. Carl heads to work, while Fiona seriously contemplates her life at the Gallagher home. Debbie heads to Todd’s house to confront Liam, telling him he needs to come home and help with Frank. He tells her no, he does not live there anymore and no longer wants to be a Gallagher.
Tammy seeks comfort in Lip as she gets the results from her cancer gene test, discovering that she has the “good cancer gene” and can have a baby, which will help her reduce the chance of cancer.
Tammy decides to have the baby, but to Lip’s disagreement wants to put it up for adoption. After a huge argument, Tammy meets up with Lip at the shop and to talk things out.
Fiona’s court case is settled with her only paying fines. Carl continues to mope over West Point and decides to drop out of school and become a fast food worker full-time. Debbie and Kelly face off over Carl’s decision. Kelly hunts Carl down and gets him back on the right track with school, and their relationship.
After court Fiona heads to the prison where she visits Ian. She tells Ian it may be time for her to leave the south side. Ian tells her he agrees with her and that she “should leave,” Ian convinces Fi that she should go…NOW, and get started on her new life. Debs confronts Liam. He gives her a list of demands that he feels must be met before he will return home.
Debs finds Fiona packing and Lip has a heart-to-heart with his big sister about her decision and the family. Fiona asks Lip to promise that he will take care of the family for them. Lip sets off to throw Fiona and Gallagher going away party for her. Which she bails on because she couldn’t stand to say goodbye.
Shameless fans will also see Frank and Fiona have their last father/daughter chat. Frank tells Fi she did a good job stepping in to help with the kids, but Fiona, says she did it all. Frank chokes up as his eldest leaves the house for the last time and heads to the train station.
Fiona gets on the train as Lip returns with party supplies to find her gone. However, the Gallaghers throw the party without Fi in her honor and gets advice on being a father from Kevin. Debbie finds a check for $50,000 from Fiona. Last scene Fiona boards a plane, last view is of Ian in the prison yard playing basketball, but, stopping to look up at a jet overhead and smiling.
With Fiona gone, Shameless fans will find Season 10 looking at a whole new dynamic within the Gallagher family. Debs looks as if she will step into the caregiver role with Ian and Lip’s help and Frank’s continued chaos.
