Thanks to The Game Awards 10-Year Concert we now know who may become Venom in the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game. Insomniac’s Spider-Man series has teased Harry Osborn in both Spider-Man and Miles Morales. Harry is a very important character in the Spider-man franchise but he has not been present in the first two installments. We find out in the first game that Harry has become very ill and his father Norman Osborn has been trying to cure him.
Who will Be Venom?
When Spider-Man 2 was announced it was confirmed that Peter and Miles would face Venom as one of the game’s main villains. Although it was not confirmed who the symbiote was attached to. Now, a video played during the concert basically confirms Venom’s identity. In the video, we can see black tendrils surrounding Harry Osborn in his stasis chamber. The ambient screens around the stage also show the same tendrils.
Even with Peter wearing the symbiote in the gameplay trailer fans believe that it will eventually make its way to Harry becoming Venom. It is becoming increasingly more obvious that Miles will find a way to get the symbiote off of Peter. Whether it is with his own powers or an outside force. It would be very surprising if Miles and Symbiote suit Peter do not end up in some kind of fight against each other.
Harry becoming Venom just makes too much sense not to happen. With his life-threatening illness, Venom could be the key to keeping Harry alive as well as making him stronger than he ever was. We also know that Norman will do anything to keep his son alive even if it means others will suffer. Devil’s Breath was originally meant to treat Harry before it was stolen and used to cause chaos.
A New Villain On The Rise?
Now, if the Spider-Men defeat Venom and Harry does not survive the fight, could that lead to Norman Osborn becoming the Green Goblin? If something happens to Harry in a fight with Peter and Miles, Norman would want his revenge. This might drive him to dawg the green mask and deadly glider.
It will be very interesting to see how things will play out in the upcoming Spider-Man 2. With the game set to come out on October 20th, we will not have to wait too long to find out. Spider-Man 2 is a very highly anticipated game with two playable heroes and a fan-favorite villain. Fans can not wait for Spider-Man 2 to fully launch!
