Darth Vader from Rogue One
Darth Vader

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor has been confirmed to be in the year 9 BBY. That so happened to be the same year that the recent Obi-Wan Kenobi show is set in. 10 years after the events of Revenge Of The Sith and 9 before A New Hope this is pretty uncharted territory for Star Wars canon. With that being said we now have two projects to shed some light on this dark time in the Star Wars timeline

How Are The Two Connected?

At first glance, it seems like this game and the Kenobi show have no connections other than the year they share. Although it seems like that is it if we look deeper we may find a pretty significant connection. According to WeGotThisCovered.com, it comes down to a single character. That character of course being Darth Vader himself. Vader is the only character that shows up in both projects. Now, what we do not know is what project takes place first.

In Kenobi when we first see the Sith Lord, he is floating in his bacta tank. That leads us to believe he had sustained some sort of injury prior to learning Kenobi is alive. In Jedi Survivor while on Jedha, Cere has an intense fight with Vader leading to her death and Vader limping away seemingly injured. What if Vader is healing from his fight with Cere when we first see him in Kenobi?

Everything In Star Wars Is Connected

George Lucas once said that everything in Star Wars rhymes. He didn’t mean that literally of course, but he did mean that every project is somehow connected. Even if it is the smallest details. This can all but confirm that Survivor happens before Kenobi, as by the end of the Kenobi show Palpatine orders Vader to give up hunting Jedi so he can rule by his side.

With a second season of Kenobi still on the table, here’s hoping that we can get at least a cameo of Cal Kestis in a live-action show. Cal has quickly become a fan-favorite Jedi as he has already faced so much adversity. Being a survivor of the Clone Wars, facing Darth Vader, and fighting in the very start of what would be the Galactic Civil War. If and when Cal shows up in a live-action show or movie it will just connect each story even more. Hence making the Star Wars timeline rhyme, just like George Lucas always intended it to.
