With the announcement of three new Star Wars movies being made coming from Celebration, Fans are asking the big questions. When it was said that Rey would be getting another movie for her story many were surprised. With how much the Sequels divided the fandom it seemed like a low blow by Disney to add more wood to that fire. Although, if this movie was done right it could really save Daisy Ridley’s character.

The New Rey Movie

The movie was said to be about Rey trying to rebuild the Jedi Order and stopping the powers that rise to destroy it. Ever since that announcement, people have been coming up with theories about who we might see in this movie. One theory that has been very popular online is that Mark Hamill would come back to play a post-death Luke Skywalker. As a force ghost of course. When asked about this Hamill said the fans shouldn’t count on it. “No, I don’t have any expectations of that happening,” he said according to GameSpot.com

Luke Skywalker dies in 2017’s The Last Jedi but did return in The Rise Of Skywalker as a force ghost. A lot is possible in Star Wars but it sounds like Mark Hamill is done. Hamill was not thrilled with how his character was handled in episodes 8-9 and let his opinions be known after the movies came out. When Mark read the script for the last Jedi he “knew it was over.” He said, “The whole thing was emotional.

What Is Next For Star Wars?

So who could we see in Rey’s new movie? Who could be this new villain? What else could this new movie set up for the future of Star Wars? Could we possibly see an adult Grogu? Could we see some kind of youngling who survived Order 66 all those years ago? What force ghost will we see? Obi-Wan and Anakin are definitely in play with Ewan and Hayden coming back for the Kenobi show. It will be very interesting to see this new story unfold as we move into the next generation of Star Wars!
